When I was a recent college graduate, and trying to get myself established, I discovered I had a fibroid tumor. This is an incredibly painful ailment which caused me to become severely anemic. Because I was transient at the time, and off of my parent's health insurance, I went to Planned Parenthood of Indianapolis for assistance. They explained to me what was happening with my body as this tumor was growing inside of me. Then they explained my options. None of these were Planned Parenthood Services, but they guided me to find a physician and a hospital that would work with an underemployed young woman. I eventually had surgery to remove the tumor. Once my body was on the mend, I returned to Planned Parenthood to for guidance with my birth control options. The last thing I needed was an unplanned pregnancy when I had wedding bills and hospital bills coming in. I definitely wanted to get myself in a more stable position before starting a family.
