When I needed help trying to figure out what kind of birth control would be best for me, I got the information I needed...I got to talk to a planned parenthood staff member and doctor about whether birth control pills or an IUD or a diaphragm would be best for me. I felt supported and listened to and valued. I was educated about how to care for myself and stay healthy. I was informed about the need for regular pap smears and taught how to do self breast exams. I got information about where to go for mammograms. When I wasn't earning much money I was allowed to pay what I was able to afford. Later, when I started earning more money I paid more. I knew I could always get help at Planned Parenthood and loved that it was not an intimidating environment. I felt safe there.
