As a young adult in college, my parents' health insurance was often precarious. I was covered by my dad's insurance, but he worked in tech and had a string of jobs that laid him off, leaving my sister and me without health coverage. I knew I could always count on Planned Parenthood to get my annual exam and birth control, whether or not I had insurance. I have never had to make the incredibly difficult choice of whether or not to terminate a pregnancy, and I KNOW THAT THIS IS BECAUSE PLANNED PARENTHOOD WAS AVAILABLE TO ME. I believe deeply that reproductive freedom is a human right, and I believe in the myriad research that has shown the enormous socioeconomic benefits of education and choice. As an adult, my husband and I have chosen to not have children. I worry what a Trump presidency (and being an Indiana resident) could mean for us. We've both already discussed the possibility of moving to a different state. It's crazy to think in the USA, in 2016, families would have to uproot themselves to find a place that doesn't violate their rights as human beings. I'm prepared to fight for those rights before it comes to that. My deepest gratitude to all of you at Planned Parenthood for a lifetime of care!
